200-pound Shrek sculpture is missing from its Massachusetts home

Law enforcement is hoping this struggle has a fairy-tale ending.

Hatfield, Massachusetts, police are searching for a 200-pound lime green shrew statue that mysteriously disappeared from its swamp.

Police posted an alert with a photo of the handmade statue, which was reported missing on Monday.

“This about 200lb of cement The co-statue has gone missing from its home on Mountain Rd. If you have any information on his current whereabouts please contact our department or return him in the condition you found him in,” police wrote Tuesday.

“The dragon statue he lives with is desperate and lonely,” the post added.

A spokesperson for the Hatfield Police Department told Boston.com that the statue “kind of [an] Famous statue in the city.

“It is not something that can be easily moved,” the spokesperson said. “There are clearly drag marks that he didn’t go willingly.”

The statue is probably worth $500, but to him, “it’s priceless,” the owner told law enforcement.

Shrek, the titular character of the 2001 animated DreamWorks film that spoofed fairy tales, is an ogre known for his neon green skin color and grumpy personality.

The cult classic movie has had several sequels and spin-offs, and in recent years has magically transformed into a beloved online icon, much like the frog prince.
