3 American tourists attacked, stabbed after dispute over filming in popular Puerto Rico neighborhood

Earlier this week, three Americans, identified as tourists from South Carolina and Georgia, were stabbed while visiting a popular tourist area in Puerto Rico.

Authorities in San Juan, Puerto Rico say Wallace Alonso Florence, 37, and Carlos Sanchez Brown, 39, of South Carolina, and Jackson Bredom Tremaine, 38, of Georgia, were stabbed around 4 a.m. Monday. The New York Post reported.

The incident began when Brown began filming a hamburger cart in San Juan’s La Perla neighborhood that was made famous by the music video. Luis Fonsi’s hit song “Despacito”.

Some locals reportedly asked the group to stop filming and a suspect, with fair skin and long white hair, allegedly attacked Florence after the group continued filming.

The group attempted to flee the scene and make their way to the Old San Juan neighborhood, but soon realized they were being followed.

At that point, an unknown man attacked and stabbed all three with a knife, cutting Brown once in the left arm and stabbing Tremaine six times in the chest, arm and back.
