Even NFL WAGs have to pay for their own tickets to games.
Sydney Warner, wife of 49ers Pro Bowl linebacker Fred Warner, took to TikTok over the weekend to share an “NFL secret” that left some fans in shock.
“Get ready with me as I tell you guys some amazing things about the NFL that I didn’t know before I met my husband,” Sydney said. “These are all things that are specific to our team, our organization, our city and our situation.”
Sidney — a former contestant on season 24 of “The Bachelor” before tying the knot with Warner in June 2022 — began by saying she was shocked at how NFL players are paid.
“They get paid like every other normal job,” Sidney joked, adding that he thought Brinks’ truck had delivered a penny in cash to his house. In 2021, Warner agreed to a five-year extension with the 49ers, worth more than $95 million.
As for the night before the games?
“You’re not allowed to spend the night with your significant other at away games or home games,” Sydney said. “For away games they’re obviously in a hotel, but if I choose to go to the same hotel, we’re not allowed to be in the same room and then home games they sleep in the hotel too.”
San Francisco 49ers players are also required to be in bed by 10:30 p.m. before games and have a “bed check” so the team can “control the environment” before games.
Yes, WAGs need to pay for their tickets. They also need permission from the team to go onto the field before the game and take photos of the cute couple, which Sydney and Olivia Culpo have done many times before.
“Not all your tickets to games, home and away, are free,” Sidney said. “They are at a discounted rate, but they are not free.
“… You have to ask for those passes and if you clear you get one, you just don’t get that every game. You have to ask and be approved.”
Levy’s Stadium provides day care for women with children, according to Sidney, who said “you drop them off before the game starts and you pick them up in the fourth quarter.”
Sidney waits for Warner for about an hour after each game while he showers, does media and talks with his coaches and teammates. Then when he got home, Warner would watch the movie for hours.

In a second video, Sidney explained that the NFL prepares players’ families for the transition to the league, including meetings on money management.
The 49ers give the team a Super Bowl ticket even if they don’t make it to the big game.
“If you don’t build it, like we didn’t build it, you’re going to sell them again,” Sidney said, adding that the seats are located in “nosebleeds.”

Warner played in his second Pro Bowl this past weekend following the Eagles’ season-ending loss to the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game in Las Vegas.
In 14 starts that season, Warner recorded 98 tackles, 10 passes defensed, two sacks, one forced fumble and one interception.
