A 36-year-old Michigan man with chipped teeth has been arrested after police discovered he kidnapped a vulnerable woman, sexually assaulted her for three weeks and threatened to “rip her throat out” if she didn’t do what he said. .

A pregnant woman in her 20s was kicked out of her home the week of Thanksgiving, Swanson said. Barajas spotted a frail woman walking alone on the street and pulled his car over. He offered her a warm shower, food and a place to stay.

The victim accepted, unaware that she would be repeatedly raped and trafficked for the next three weeks.
When the couple arrived at the dilapidated home, Barajas locked her in a room and tied her to a bed. Genesee officials said a rope was found at the scene. The victim’s room had an external lock and all the windows in the room were bolted shut.
Barajas repeatedly sexually assaulted the pregnant woman and other men came to sexually assault and traffic her, police said.
“Not only did this guy take the opportunity to sexually assault him, he had people approach him and forcefully tie him to a bed,” Swanson said.
During the week of Thanksgiving, a 36-year-old man took a woman in her 20s to his home, tied her to a bed with rope, locked the doors and threatened to snap her neck with his teeth if she tried. to escape, police said.

According to Swanson, the woman tried to escape the death chamber three times.
The first time, he ran through an open door during the exchange, but Barajas and the other suspects chased him, shot him and dragged him into a bedroom.
A second escape attempt also led to his recapture. On December 8, the victim experienced a medical emergency related to her pregnancy and was seen by nurses who recognized that the woman was in serious need of care.

After nurses alerted authorities to the woman’s need, police raided the home and arrested Barajas on multiple charges, including human trafficking, kidnapping, sexual assault, methamphetamine and ecstasy, among other charges.
Barajas is being held in jail on $250,000 bond — $35,000 per charge — and is scheduled to be in court on Dec. 22 for a probable cause conference.
