A “national arrest warrant” has been issued for a man accused of killing his girlfriend, Oregon police said.


Police in Portland, Oregon say they have issued a “national arrest warrant” for a man accused of killing his girlfriend and believed to have left town.

Jose Antonio Caraballo, 43, is wanted for the murder of his girlfriend, Catherine Muehlbach, 27, the Portland Police Bureau said.

Officials said officers responded to a report of a deceased person at Powell Butte Nature Park on Dec. 9 at 3:16 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found the deceased person, later identified as Muhlbach.

The cause of death was later determined to be homicide.

An OHIO teenager has been sentenced to life in prison for killing a man on a bus.

Caraballo’s last known location was within the city limits of Portland, and he is “known to have associates in Oregon, California and Mexico.”

Muhlbach grew up in the San Diego area and later moved to Portland to start a storage and transportation company, according to KGTV.

“The pain is overwhelming and we are in shock,” said Jen Keller, Muhlbach’s sister. “It hurts. It hurts. Our world has changed. Nothing seems the same.
