ALBUQUERQUE – A Northern California native has been sentenced to six months in prison for assaulting two flight attendants while traveling from San Diego to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Alton James Johnson, 43, of Yuba, California, was sentenced Wednesday, U.S. New Mexico prosecutors said. James pleaded guilty to the January 12 attack.
Prosecutors allege that Johnson repeatedly touched the hostess’s legs during a flight in December 2019. He asked her to stop and he grabbed her by the tail.
Prosecutors said a second flight attendant came to the rescue and he grabbed the officer by the arm.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Johnson admitted in a court order that he drank alcohol but controlled his actions.
