According to a local report, a Texas mother was shot during a road rage shooting in San Antonio on Monday while protecting her daughter from a gunman.
The shooting happened just after 7am in the south of the city near I-35, when a male driver opened fire on another vehicle, which he thought had cut him off. KSAT-TV reported, Referring to the San Antonio Police Department.

The outlet said the driver of another vehicle, a 29-year-old mother, jumped into the back seat and used her body to protect her 7-year-old daughter. Mother Benny was reportedly injured by a gunshot wound.
According to the report, her 29-year-old husband took her to Mission Trails Baptist Hospital, where she was transported to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, who was shot, fled the scene shortly after the shooting, police said, and police are looking for him.
No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon, the San Antonio Police Department told LBL via email. The police continued to investigate.
