ACLU urges Tennessee hospital to threaten to halt transgender surgeries: ‘Failure to follow science’

A Tennessee lawmaker criticized the ACLU of the Volunteer State on Wednesday after the group attacked a Memphis hospital for halting gender reassignment surgeries and canceling a 19-year-old patient’s planned procedure over concerns.

“The ACLU-TN demands that MLH immediately correct its illegal actions … failing which the ACLU-TN will file a formal complaint requesting an investigation,” the letter added.
