According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Nannot Waldrop, 37, was arrested in Center Point after she boarded a bus and began fighting with an 11-year-old child.
Mrs. Waldrop is facing several charges in connection with the incident, including third-degree assault, trespassing on a school bus and disorderly conduct, police Statement Read on
According to Sergeant Joni Money, the “altercation” allegedly involved Ms Waldrop and 11-year-olds at 7.18 am on 14 September at Martinique Drive.
Ms Waldrop was taken into custody by deputies, and released on $ 10,500 bail later that day, the statement said.
Walter Gonsoulin, Jefferson County Schools Supervisor, condemned any act of violence on the transportation services of his school system. Non-school staff Adults are not allowed on school buses.
“While this is now a law enforcement matter, I would say that what I saw in that video was deeply disturbing to me,” he said in a statement, according to AL.com. “No form of violence will be accepted at any stage, especially the atrocities on students. We are fully cooperating with and continuing with law enforcement.
According to NBC News, authorities have not disclosed Mrs. Waldrop’s court date or if she has any legal representation.
