Apple Music has announced a new karaoke feature called Apple Music Sing.
The feature was announced yesterday (December 6). new blog postLaunching by the end of 2022, it will allow fans to adjust the vocal levels of tens of millions of songs to sing along and host karaoke nights.
The blog post explains, “Apple Music Sing offers multiple lyric views for fans to take leads, play duets, back up a song, and more — all in an unprecedented way on Apple Music. ‘combined with the experience of lyrics. Combined with an ever-expanding catalog of tens of millions of the world’s best-sung songs, Apple Music Sing makes it fun and easy for anyone to participate, wherever and whenever they want.
Launching later this month, Apple Music Sing will be available on iPhone, iPad and 4K Apple TVs.
Apple’s Oliver Schusser said: “The Apple Music lyrics experience is consistently one of the most popular features on our service.
“We already know that our users around the world love to track their favorite songs, so we wanted to further develop this offering to make music even more engaging through singing. It’s really fun, and our customers love it.”
2022 also saw the launch of Spotify Karaoke, which has been in development since 2020. The feature allows fans to sing along to songs and then be rated by Spotify on their singing ability and accuracy.
Elsewhere, Apple Music has released its list of the streaming platform’s most streamed songs worldwide in 2022, with The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s 2021 hit “Stay” taking the top spot.
At the second highest point List of Apple Music’s best songs of 2022 Harry Styles’ ‘On My Own’ followed Future’s Drake and Thames-backed ‘WIT FOR U’ at number three. Kodak Black’s “Super Gremlin” came in at number four, and Adele’s “Easy On Me” entered the top five.
