A Bay Area woman has died after a rollover crash in Livermore, California, according to local authorities.
The crash occurred on Saturday afternoon on the northbound lanes of the Interstate 680, near the Highway 84 exit. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Alyssa Garcia, lost control of her vehicle and rolled over several times, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Garcia was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but CHP officials believe speed may have been a factor. The highway was closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene.
Garcia’s family and friends have expressed their grief and shock over her sudden death on social media. A GoFundMe page has also been set up to help with funeral expenses.
The tragedy is a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices, particularly during the summer months when traffic is often heavy and drivers may be more likely to take risks on the road. The CHP urges all motorists to obey traffic laws and drive defensively to prevent accidents and save lives.
