Brittany Murphy’s mysterious death of 2009 still intrigues fans, and the upcoming HBO Max Documentary “What happened, Brittany Murphy?” “Clueless” reveals many new details surrounding the star’s premature, sudden passing.
According to this PeopleDoc describes her relationship with her late husband, British producer Simon Monzak.
Murphy died in December 2009 at the age of 32 due to pneumonia, anemia and a drug overdose. Monzak died at the age of 40 just five months later in similar circumstances.
Makeup artist Trista Jordan appeared on the dock working on her last film “Something Wicked” for “Uptown Girls” and revealed that Murphy’s appearance was rocky.
“Her eyes were very sunken, and she was very sad,” Jordan told People. “She was not herself. She was very painful. She had Bambi legs and could not stand.
Director Cynthia Hill did background research on Monzak for the Doctor, and admitted she was off.
“He was a troubled man. He used to appease people, and Brittany was one of his last victims,” he told People. “There was a pattern of behavior that made the research that we did so much clearer.”
Murphy’s half-brother, Tony Bartolotti, said Monzak believed she was responsible for her death. “I have spent years looking at it, suppressing my anger. I think Brittany has been stripped,” He made the claim in 2019. “Who killed Brittany? She didn’t die of natural causes.”
Hill also noted how impressed people were with Murphy’s presence and how gracious she was.
“Everyone was very consistent when describing her,” Hill recalled, according to People. “She is very generous, caring and always thinking of everyone, and I think it is sometimes forgotten by all the secrets surrounding her death.”
“She loved everybody,” the filmmaker continued.
“Her death was very strange and there were many twists,” added executive producer Buddy Day.
Two part “What happened, Brittany Murphy?” Will be aired HBO Max On the 14th of October.
