Bernardo Silva’s assist to Gabriel Jesus’ winner vs PSG was a moment of magic

With Manchester City at the top of their Champions League group, Bernardo Silva tricked the Paris Saint-Germain defense by a moment of magic to set up Gabriel Jesus’ match-winning goal.

City played their matchday five match against rivals Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden or Jack Grealish.

Pep Guardiola’s team needed someone else to spark them in life in the first half against the wall with a fantastic PSG defense against their backs.

After being battered for 45 minutes, PSG actually took the lead through Kylian Mbappe, only five minutes after the break, to return to the City.

The first Raheem Sterling got the hosts level, and after 63 minutes, Jesus scored the winner with just 14 minutes left in the period.

Riyad Mahrez floated the perfect ball towards Silva in the back post. The Portugal midfielder set it up for the first time and knocked the defenders unconscious, instead they pulled it back for Jesus, who slotted home superbly.

City dominated the first half, and Ilkay Gundogan thundered against the post, but the back line from PSG was strong under enough pressure.

It was like the first match between the teams this season, where City dominated throughout the second half but the Frenchman managed to score twice.

He may have thought that Mbappe’s goal would be repeated when he broke the deadlock after half time.

Although they deserved a win in the end, and still managed to top the group to play one game, that means they were ranked in the last 16.
