Biden responded, “My message is, after two years, you are back, America is back. There is nothing we can not overcome, Al. And you have a reason for that. You are always standing up and moving.”

The traditional parade returned to its pre-epidemic form Thursday after being transformed last year and astonishing the crowd.

“Thank you very much,” Roker told the president. “Santa’s coming.”

“I’m waiting for Santa,” Biden replied.
