Billie Eilish new music
Following the release of her 2021 album Happier Than Ever, Eilish dropped a couple of singles this year called Guitar Songs.
The first track “TV” is a five-minute somber acoustic ballad that references current events with the lyric “When the Internet sees monster movie stars on trial / When they roll over” avoiding talking to anyone else while name-checking the hit reality show Survivor. v. Roe and Wade. Around the two-minute mark, the mournful track picks up steam and finds a beautiful groove.
“30th”, Eilish’s second track is just as breathy and mellow as the first, building to an impressive crescendo near the end of the song. What sets it apart from “TV” is that the lyrics are a little heavier. Here he seems to be referring to his friend’s tragic car accident.
