Movie star Charlize Theron admitted in a recent interview that she would give up acting for her children if necessary.
Theron, 47, is the mother of two adopted daughters, Jackson and August. The “Mad Max: Fury Road” star opened up about her decision to “get involved” in her life when a reporter asked her why it was important to her to do something.
For context, Theron has lived in the same house for 30 years and has not hired any staff to help with maintenance.
“This is my life and I want to be a part of it,” Theron told The Hollywood Reporter. “What early tragedy brought to me is the realization that you don’t have forever. You just don’t. It’s easy to be like, ‘Oh, that’s one movie,’ but then it’s another movie and another. And I’m carrying a message up my sleeve.” I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but I think for women, we are concerned [that] If we don’t work harder and if we don’t strive, we will never get there. And it’s exhausting. I never think, ‘Oh, I’m going to enjoy this.'”

“But as you get older, you have more perspective, and it’s easier when you’re almost 50. And my kids help. I like being a mom more than being an actor or a producer. . And I never thought. If somebody told me tomorrow, ‘You can’t do both,’ would it hurt me to give up acting? Of course. But it would be unbelievable to me.”
Theron always knew she would be a mother through adoption. The actress grew up in apartheid South Africa and was exposed to orphanages and children in need of families at a young age.
“Even when I was in a relationship, I was always honest with my partners that adoption was what my family would look like one day,” she previously told People magazine. “It certainly wasn’t a second option for me. It was always my first option.”
When Theron won a modeling contest at the age of 16, she moved to America. However, he eventually switched to acting and later produced films.
Theron told The Hollywood Reporter: “The work is so ingrained in me. “I think that’s why I’ve had problems with modeling. There’s been no hard work, and I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way towards gorgeous models, but there’s a part of me that likes it a little bit more. go back.”

Theron was behind Mindhunter, Bombshell, The Old Guard and more, but these days she’s not so sure her fame will help other people get behind her vision of movies.
“The market is really different today, the fame that worked 20 years ago, the fame that was cash in the bank is different now. We live in the age of reality TV and God knows I love me some reality TV. So , the market for what Kim Kardashian represents — not in a negative way, because I watch everything she does — has more value than what Meryl Streep, one of the greatest actresses, does. And that’s true,” Theron said. “They have very different skills, but if you were Kim Kardashian, you’d probably be a lot further off the ground.”

“I feel like I’m in the same place,” he told the publication. “Working more, I don’t think it’s going to change my level of fame. It’s always been an average journey. I’ve never been one of those Kim Kardashian-level people. But I always feel like it’s something. was.”
