Chase star Mark Labett has been slammed for making a ‘creepy’ comment about Carol Vorderman when he appeared on the popular version of the show.
Longtime general Wiz commented on the 61-year-old former countdown star as he tried to win money for charity on Tuesday’s episode of Channel 4’s Beat the Chaser.
Posting on Twitter, Labette, 56 – separated from his second cousin Katie in 2020 – wrote: ‘I don’t know what’s more impressive about @carolvorders, their intellect or their more tangible assets.’

But the tongue-in-cheek post provoked a negative reaction from followers, with many branding him as ‘weird’ and ‘inappropriate’.
A fan responding to this tweet wrote: ‘Really? This is not 2022 1972! A little creepy and sexist. ‘
The second frustrated follower quickly added: ‘Bit improper.’
Sensing trouble on the horizon, a third commented: ‘You get slaughtered on those remarks.’

In the episode of Carol, which aired on January 11, the former Countdown star faced all six chasers – Ann Hegarty, Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha, Shawn Wallace, Darragh Ennis and Labette.

But her legendary intellect let her down at night, and the Cambridge educated star walked away with just £ 1k for her chosen charity, the Cleft Lip and Palette Association (CLAPA).
Carol – whose brother was born with “severe slits” – stunned viewers by wearing a red lace dress that fits her curvy figure.
Taking to Twitter shortly before the show aired, she wrote: ‘On Beat the Chasers tonight @itv 9pm. @Drzoewilliams even though we recorded it a long time ago …. Hello Misses so happy to meet you.
