A Chinese spy balloon that has been in the national spotlight for two days has landed in North Carolina.

Local police in the area have urged residents to refrain from using their personal firearms to shoot down the balloons.
“Please don’t shoot him with your handgun to bring him down on your own,” said police in the nearby city of Gastonia. WSHIOTV7 reported.
The balloon’s current location shows its rapid southeast over the continental United States. It could leave the US East Coast sometime Saturday morning. CNN reported.
Although the Biden administration had been aware of its existence since Jan. 28, the spy squad only became public knowledge on Thursday when it was spotted in Billings, Mont.
Sources told ABC News that the balloon could be shot down after reaching the Atlantic Ocean.
