CM Punk left WWE over six years ago, and it took him that long to return to pro wrestling. He found this home at AEW, and there will probably be a lot of singing for him on RAW tonight.
The company is rolling in the Chicago area and the All State Arena is 100% sold out for the show. Chicago fans are very passionate about professional wrestling and the savior of Second City.
“CM Punk” chants are popular at WWE events as fans show their displeasure with what is going on in the ring. They have a completely different reason for singing his name now, as CM Punk is on his way to compete.
Songs for the Savior of the Second City rang out even before RAW went live this week. It’s likely that the three-hour show will include a few examples of “CM Punk vocals”, as they started before the show even started.
CM Punk is also set to make its Chicago debut in a few weeks as AEW puts on a sold-out show at the United Center. It could add even more buzz to the CM Punk name in this area. WWE may need to use ThunderDome cheats with audio to muffle vocals. Keep checking with Ring news for more updates.
