Critics quickly slammed the former CBS anchor, calling him a “liar” and insisting his opinions made him a “caricature” of what he once was.
Instead, DeSantis blasted Wednesday. The organization has made cuts to adhere to academic standards set by the state Department of Education.

The Florida DOE rejected an earlier version of the course that claimed “Filled with critical race theory.” and “evoked indoctrination masquerading as education.” DeSantis shared similar criticisms of the previously revised course.
Echoing other liberals’ claims that DeSantis was whitewashing education and erasing black history, Rather tweeted, “The Santis Playbook on Race and Education is an updated edition of what I had seen in the South in the 1960s.”
Although Twitter users called out Rather on the competition.
Conservative YouTubers, The Hodge Twins, instead admonished, tweeting, “Don’t think so.”
Fox News contributor David Webb added, “You are a proven liar.”
Seattle radio host Jason Rentz slammed the former anchor, tweeting, “You’re a shameful, bigoted hack. And I’m so glad you’ll be remembered that way.”

Aaron Sorrels, the former GOP candidate for lieutenant governor of Texas, scathed, asking, “Are Democrats running out of old white people to scream racism? Bringing out disgraced liar Dan Rather on Twitter.”
Rather’s openly liberal and factually dubious tweets have drawn similar backlash from Twitter users over the years, especially in light of the fact that Rather himself is a proven purveyor of “fake news”.
Rather discredited his “CBS Evening News” gig in 2004 as a result of spreading misinformation.
Just prior to former President George W. Bush’s re-election, the anchor ran a “60 Minutes” special disparaging Bush’s behavior while serving in the National Guard in the 1970s, which he allegedly commanded. The officer wrote.

Critics alleged that the letters were forged as part of a blatant attempt to smear Bush, a claim bolstered by the fact that the letters’ authenticity was never verified.
Later, Rather apologized for the scandal before being investigated by CBS over allegations of journalistic misconduct. He stepped down from his role as anchor of the “CBS Evening News” months after the scandal.
