Chicago’s historic crime wave seems to be creeping up in the suburbs because two high-profile retailers have been hit by thieves this week.
Fox 32 Chicago Reported Seven to eight people stole several purses from the Bloomingdale store at Westfield Old Orchard Mall in Skokie, about 15 miles north of Chicago.

Cellphone footage captured the incident and showed individuals rushed to the exit with merchandise. They were gone until the police arrived.
According to local police, no one is in custody and the incident is still under investigation.
On Tuesday evening, another store was hit, this time at Louis Vuitton in Northbrook’s high-end Northbrook Court Mall, ten miles north of Skokie.
The incident, captured by cellphone video, shows at least eight people running away from the store with purses and a mall security officer trailing behind.
It is unknown whether any of the robbers behind the Bloomingdale robbery were behind the Louis Vuitton incident.
Two incidents robbed the Ulta Beauty Store in Northridge, about 15 miles northwest of Chicago, last week.
The video shows at least three criminals wearing masks when stuffing beauty products into black bags.
A man filming the theft on his phone is clearly shocked at the scene unfolding in front of him.
In the wake of the robbery, other customers may see milling. A high-level security alarm can be heard from above.
“At Ulta Beauty, the safety of our associates and guests is our highest priority,” Eileen Siemer, Ulta’s vice president of public relations, told LBL. “We are aware of the criminal activity at our Northridge store over the weekend and are fully cooperating with the local police as they conduct the investigation.”
