Sen. Ted Cruz blasted MSNBC over the weekend after airing an essay on the “true story” of Thanksgiving, which said the national holiday was a “day of genocide and violence.”

Cruz responded to a segment on MSNBC, accusing the whites of not telling the story of Thanksgiving and blaming the pilgrims for the “white supremacy” that is affecting the nation today.

“Instead of bringing stuffing and biscuits, those colonists brought genocide and violence,” Gacy Ross says of the history of American Thanksgiving, ‘”MSNBC posted on Twitter on Saturday.” That genocide and violence is still on the menu. “
Gacy Ross, a Native American, explains in the section that white people have created a false image of Thanksgiving.
In the clip, Ross states that “the myth of Thanksgiving closely mirrors American mythology,” and that the idea of ”equal exchange” between Native Americans and those who live on Thanksgiving is what America “wants to see.”
“The truth of Thanksgiving is very different,” Ross continues. “The truth is, the pilgrims did not bring turkey, or sweet potato pudding, or cranberries to Thanksgiving.
Ross says Native Americans feed the pilgrims without bringing anything to the table, so they understand why white Americans are grateful but they are “still trying to figure out” what Native Americans “got.”
Ross railed against “state-sponsored” violence in today’s society originating from pilgrims, and condemned “white supremacy” as photos of Michael Brown, Bronna Taylor and Trayvon Martin floated on screen.
“Go back to Earth,” Ross said. “Set the myth. Only then and then can we all be equally grateful.”
Several other conservatives joined Cruz in criticism of MSNBC, including radio host Buck Sexton.
Sexton tweeted, “We should encourage this from the Democrats. “Undermine the greatest country ever created. Spitting on our traditions. Finally, the vast majority of Americans are looking at what the Left is doing. A reckoning is coming. The interval is just beginning.”
“I’m surprised that this incredibly stupid MSNBC woman didn’t call the Pilgrim’s Buckle-Hatted Kyle Rittenhouse,” Federalist co-founder Ben Domenek tweeted.
