UFC middleweight contender Darren Till has accused Chad Mendes and TJ Dilshaw of taking steroids.
Till posted the following tweet on his official Twitter account:
“It’s great to have Chad Mendes back, but how much is he on? More or less than TJ…”
Darren Till addressed the fact that former UFC featherweight Chad Mendes has recently been returning to MMA and the UFC. He wonders how much the 36-year-old is on steroids until it’s been indicated that Mendes is too good to return.
Darren Till used the needle emoji to suggest he was referring to steroids and asked if Chad Mendes is more or less on steroids than Mendes’ former team alpha male teammate TJ Dilshaw.
Till is believed to have made these allegations due to Mendes and Dilshaw serving suspensions for previously failed drug tests.
Back in June 2016, Mendes was flagged by USADA for a possible violation. He claimed that the failed drug test was due to a topical cream he used to treat psoriasis. However, it was revealed in July 2016 that Mendes tested positive for GHRP-6, a growth hormone release stimulator. He was handed a two-year suspension. Following his return, Mendes competed twice in 2018 before announcing his retirement from MMA.
Meanwhile, TJ Dilshaw tested positive for EPO in pre-fight and post-fight drug tests in connection with his UFC flyweight title fight against Henry Cejudo at UFC Fight Night 143 in 2019. Dilshaw was later stripped of his UFC bantamweight title and suspended. MMA Competition. His suspension ended earlier this year.
