Diego Sanchez shares the ‘evil’ COVID ordeal, blaming Covington for a ‘common cold’ statement

As we all know, COVID-19 leaves no one, not even young and fit UFC athletes. Many fighters on the roster have gone through various battles with the virus, some of them dealing with severe and chronic cases.

Latest stats: UFC veteran and TUF 1 alum Diego Sanchez. In a recent tweet, the 39-year-old fighter briefly described his ordeal. He took a shot at the loud-talking welterweight contender Colby Covington, who was repeatedly derogatory about the threat of the disease.

“Shitting, coughing, pukin, persistent hot cold fever, every joint pain, migraines, no sleep for 5 days and constant breathing difficulty. My boy @LouisBaboon warned me I didn’t know this was evil !!! @ColbyCovMMA would say it’s just a cold. (Prayers) for all patients, ”Sanchez wrote.

During the UFC 268 Pre-Fight Media Scrum, Covington took a shot at retirement tips because of Khamjat Chimev’s own COVID battle.

“He was ready to retire from the cold,” Covington said of Chimew. “It’s a 99.9 percent survival rate to beat the common cold. ‘C-mshot’ Chimeev was ready to give it up and retire. He doesn’t want to fight with me. He has less than a 99.9 percent chance against me.

As for Sಚೆnchez, he has recently been in talks with BKFC president David Feldman for a possible transition to bare-knuckle boxing. In late April, he ended his 16-year professional relationship with the UFC, then dissolved his partnership with controversial mentor Joshua Fabia.
