Don Lemon goes on unscripted rant after James Comer calls NY Post ‘credible’

It is a bitter lemon.

“CNN This Morning” host Don Lemon took an unscripted rant against the New York Post on Tuesday after the Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee scoped out Hunter Biden’s laptop during an interview with Caitlan Collins. But termed this paper as “credible”. Co-anchor Lemon allegedly lashed out, as The Post exclusively reported last week.

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) discussed the upcoming House investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop and suggestions from the Twitter files that the FBI targeted stories about The Post’s suppression of Biden’s laptop coverage. Made.

Comer accused the FBI of pressuring him to ban The Post, calling the paper a “credible outlet” and the fourth largest newspaper in America. Much of the mainstream media, including CNN, criticized The Post’s laptop bombshell before Joe Biden was elected president in 2020.

After Collins – who took the interview from Capitol Hill – threw it back into the New York studio, the lemon turned sour.

Poppy Harlow tries to block Don Lemmon’s statement about the New York Post.

“This is the time we’re in, where facts are very flexible and you throw things out there — citing unreliable sources, like citing the New York Post as a credible source and saying The facts are — just, I can’t believe we’re here,” Lemmon said.

Lemon’s other co-host Poppy Harlow, who was on set, interrupted the diatribe in an attempt to smooth things over.

“That’s why we have Caitlan Collins on the hill, checking the facts in real time. It was a great interview,” he said.

Lemmon’s fury came after The Post revealed that he allegedly fired Collins again for interrupting the Dec. 8 broadcast, which culminated in Lemmon reportedly having personal time the next day. Asked to finish. Since then, the duo has hardly been on set together.

It also follows a directive from new CNN boss Chris Licht to move away from the left-leaning opinion-driven coverage that has sunk the network in the ratings. Last month, Lichtold of the Los Angeles Times said the third-ranked cable news network would no longer be home to “partisan hackery” and “ideological talking points.”

In October 2020, the Post’s initial laptop coverage led to the publication being banned from its Twitter account for more than two weeks.
