“CNN This Morning” anchor Don Lemon dismissed the New York Post as an “unreliable” source after hearing a CNN interview between Caitlin Collins and Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., about the Republican investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop. Despite the fact that the cable network itself eventually confirmed the president’s son’s laptop months ago.
During a panel discussion later in the show, Lemon again criticized Comer for “citing credible sources that are not credible” and for “talking about the facts of something that is flexible.”
In his interview with Collins on Tuesday morning, House Oversight Committee Chairman Comer discussed the scandals he and his GOP colleagues are looking at.

He specifically mentioned a recent meeting with Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Capitol Hill and detailed how the government has made large-scale efforts to censor “credible sources” like the New York Post. What is the tie-up with Tech?
In 2020, Twitter blocked the New York Post from sharing bombshell reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop. “Twitter files. An information dump on the platform’s inner workings revealed how Twitter’s most senior officials decided to censor a Post story just days before the 2020 election.
The Twitter files also revealed that government officials can request Twitter to censor tweets they disapprove of and provided email evidence that senior Twitter officials posted false information on the site about the 2020 election. are talking to federal law enforcement officials about the best ways to combat
“What’s troubling to me is that, according to the emails — and even Zuckerberg on Facebook,” Comer told Collins about his committee digging further into that censorship. What this indicated – the FBI was having regular meetings with social media platforms. Telling them, ‘You know, be careful, this could be disinformation, this could be Russian disinformation.’

Speaking specifically about the Post, Comer added that the FBI was “suggesting that they put people on their platforms — reputable outlets like the New York Post, the fourth-largest newspaper in America. “
Once Collins ended the interview and turned the coverage over to co-anchors Don Lemmon and Poppy Harlow, Lemmon taunted Comer, refuting his claim that the New York Post was a credible outlet.
“This is the time we’re in,” he said, “where facts are kind of flexible and you throw things out there — citing unreliable sources, like citing the New York Post as a reliable source. And to say that there are facts — it’s just, I can’t believe we’re here.”
Lemon then urged the show’s producers to delay going to commercial so he could say one last thing. “Hold on with the music please,” he told the people behind the camera. He then said, “The American people are going to suffer from everything from suffragettes to people who don’t believe in facts, we don’t have a shared reality. And now he’s taken center stage. Have taken.”

Later on the show, during a panel discussion with “The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, former GOP Congressman Adam Kinzinger and former Democratic Congressman Mondair Jones, Lemon again dismissed Comer’s claims.
Speaking to the panel, Lemon said, “When I was watching that great interview with Comer with Caitlin Collins, and I had to come out and say something because he’s citing credible sources that aren’t credible, They’re talking about the facts of something. It’s kind of flexible, and maybe you believe one thing or maybe another, facts are facts.”
“And that’s where we are right now,” he added.
However, CNN eventually confirmed emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop in a July 2022 report about his finances.
