The Dropkick Murphys are opening acts

Every show on the All-Electric St. Patrick’s Day Tour is a total party.

Before Ken Casey and the rest of the sextet hit the stage, the Dropkick Murphys have a great support act to get the audience excited for the wild time ahead.

Dropkick Murphys will be joined at all shows by folk-punk band The Rumjacks (best known for their hit “An Irish Pub Song”) and Quincy-based rockabilly singer Jesse Ahern.

When the Turnpike Troubadours hit the road March 16-18 and play the band at Boston’s MGM Music Hall, they’ll turn things up a notch.

Get your fiddles ready – these are the ones you won’t want to miss.

Singer-songwriter Nikki Lane will also serve as an additional support act on March 16, along with all of the aforementioned openers.

Dropkick Murphys new music

Although the Dropkick Murphys have been active since 1996, the band has shown no signs of slowing down in their 26-year career.

In 2021, they were released “Turn on this call”, an upbeat album full of anthems on their previous releases, and this year they’ve gone in a different direction with the acoustic country “This Machine Still Kills Nazis” made up of unused Woody Guthrie songs.

Although the band has dabbled in a new genre and performed lyrics written by another artist, the sound and spirit is still unmistakably Dropkick Murphys-esque.

The critics liked it too.

In a five star review, Folk N Rock “Dropkick Murphy’s lyrics breathed new life into Woody Guthrie’s lyrics, which to this day Woody’s lyrics still kill Nazis.”

You can listen to the live album here.
