WWE Hall of Famers Edge and Kurt Angle were a big part of the Attitude Era in the company and it really helped propel it to new heights. They were the company’s two biggest stars at the time and were also engaged in a long-running feud that spawned the “You Suck” chants for which Kurt Angle is known.
Edge was identified only with Christian as a tag team wrestler and was determined to mold himself into a main event level WWE Superstar. However, he needed a perfect opponent for it and he happened to be Kurt Angle.
while speaking kurt angle show, Edge spoke about his exit as a singles contestant in 2001, as he had a feud with Kurt Angle for the first time. Edge credits Kurt Angle with helping him get to the company’s main event.
“I finally got there. You helped me get there. Hey, to be honest, that’s when magic happens. When you have two talents or four talents, if it’s a tag team, whatever it is, that They are there to try and help each other in this thing together. For me, the end result of every story, every event, every match has to be the stronger of both the characters. And, I understand the scenarios; it shouldn’t happen Maybe the two look so strong in a match. I understand that, but there’s still a way to make the character stronger in losing whatever it is. But in the context of a story, I always like to think that Both characters could be stronger when they went in, and that should be the goal. And I really feel like with the two of us, you were already strong in the main event, and you’re helping me level up. What he did was show that I could hang. And out of a tag team, because I was kind of labeled as a tag team guy because Christian and I were as a team. It was a great success.”
Edge is set to face Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship on July 18 at the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view. We will have to wait and see whether he will win the match or not.
