Elon Musk slams Wikipedia for considering ‘deletion’ of ‘Twitter files’ entry: ‘Reckless left-wing bias’

On Tuesday, Twitter owner Elon Musk criticized the online encyclopedia Wikipedia for considering removing an entry in the “Twitter Files Investigation”.

The billionaire and Tesla CEO has accused the website, which allows anyone to edit its content, of showing “petty left-wing bias” for pointing out that access to the thread should be disabled.

Several Wiki users claimed that the story was not important or that it was based on “nothing” and this required a review.

As reported Friday, the Twitter files were a damning Twitter leak by Substack reporter Matt Taibbi that revealed internal communications between Twitter employees and US lawmakers surrounding the 2020 New York Post censorship of Hunter Biden’s laptop.

The suppression of the story shielded the Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign from Hunter Biden’s major drug and business dealings just days before the election.

The Twitter files also documented how the platform could be influenced by outside parties to censor messages they don’t like. Taibbi claims that because of Twitter’s liberal staff, requests to censor conservative posts are more common than requests to censor liberal posts.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the Twitter Files Investigation Wikipedia page described the messages as “a December 2022 Substack article by Matt Taibbi.” It provided internal emails between Twitter employees discussing content moderation related to the New York Post article. This sparked controversy over Hunter Biden’s laptop.

It added that “Democratic and Republican officials have asked Twitter staff to remove the tweets they flagged.”

Conservative columnist Ian Miles Cheong warned Musk about the pending decision to delete Wikipedia’s entry on a key topic. As he noted on Twitter, a message at the top of the article said the article was “under consideration for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia’s deletion policy.”

Cheong tweeted: “Wikipedia is voting to delete the entry for Elon Musk’s Twitter files because the editors deemed him a ‘nothing burger’ because the media didn’t cover him enough and was ‘not worthy of attention.'” works with the MSM to shape the story.”

He provided screenshots of several users protesting the disclosure of Twitter files and urging him to be suspended from Wikipedia. In one image, a user captioned the caption, “nothing else about the event.”

Another user pointed out that the “Twitter files” were generally ignored by the media (with good reason).

Musk saw Cheong’s tweet and blasted the website, saying, “Most of the Earth: ‘MSM is biased.'” Wikipedia: ‘Cite an MSM source to back up this claim.’ “Wikipedia was left-wing.”

The billionaire then asked Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, “@jimmy_wales, what do you think?” he asked.

Wells did not respond to Musk’s Twitter query at press time.
