The Bronx fire at 333 E 181st Street started just before 11am ET.

Smoke emanating from the windows can be seen in shocking video footage of the incident.

According to FDNY, the fire started in a third-floor apartment.

The 120-unit building is located near Tybout Avenue in the Tremont section of the Bronx.

Traffic is stopped at 182St and Webster Avenue.

The FDNY tweet said: “About 200 FDNY members are working on a 5-alarm fire at 333 East 181 Street in the Bronx.

FDNY Commissioner Daniel Negro said the victims were children and adults.

Mayor Eric Adams described it as “one of the worst fires in the city’s history.”

“The numbers are terrible,” the mayor said.

In a subsequent update, 19 people were treated at the incident site and the others were taken to five separate hospitals, the FDNY said.

The New York City Emergency Management Office advised nearby residents to “avoid smoke and close windows.”

In disturbing scenes, the heroic firefighters are seen cradling the baby safely, but the victims of hell are being treated by stretchers and people being treated by paramedics.

The source of the fire is currently unclear but “not suspicious” according to the Negro.
