Baltimore State attorneys Marilyn Mosby The prosecutor was indicted by a grand jury on federal charges of making false mortgage applications and false mortgage applications for his own financial gain.
At the center of the scandal are two Florida homes owned by Mosby. Mosby has been accused of lying about his federal tax obligations while filing documents for loans without paying federal taxes for several years.
Additionally, Mosby is alleged to have dishonestly purchased the house through a “second home rider,” which allowed the property to have a lower interest rate.
The online listings reviewed by Fox Business Digital show that two holiday homes have a combined 10 bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
Mosby said in a statement on Friday, “I need a blessed citizen to serve. I intend to fight to clear my name and to prove my innocence and to know that I am innocent of the charges leveled against me.”
“I searched for elected office because I knew we could do so much more. And we must bridge the divide between the criminal justice system and the communities we trust to serve.”
Democrat Mosby won the 2018 Baltimore state attorney’s election with 146,181 votes.
Mosby’s lawyer a. Said Scott Bolden LOVEBYLIFE 45 iNa stated that her client had done nothing wrong.
“Marilyn Mosby is innocent, innocent, and we look forward to defending her in court and presenting her evidence of innocence to the jury of her peers,” Bolden said. “We fight fiercely against these allegations and, after presenting all the evidence, I am confident that she will prevail over these bogus allegations – allegations rooted in five months of personal, political and racial hatred from her election.”
Mosby gained national popularity in 2015 when he served as prosecutor in the Freddie Gray Case. Gray is an African American man who died in police custody.
