Two former Maine policemen were severely sentenced for beating a porcupine to death with sticks in the line of duty.
Michael Rollerson, 31, was sentenced on Thursday to 270 days in prison, all but suspended for 20 days, fined $1,000 and required to perform community service, According to Bangor Daily News.
Addison Cox, 28, was sentenced to 90 days in prison, 10 suspended, fined $1,000 and given six months of probation, the outlet said.
The police accepted the charge of cruelty to animals and hunting at night. Reportedly, he was fired from the Rockland Police Department last year.
