Former Manchester United star Nani has returned to European football following the departure of MLS

The 35-year-old winger has memorably lifted the Champions League, FA Cup and Premier League in a trophy-laden eight-year spell at Manchester United, spent three seasons in MLS, scoring 28 goals and 23 assists in 77 appearances.

After leaving Old Trafford in the summer of 2015, he went on to enjoy spells at Fenerbahce, Valencia and Sporting CP.

Now, the Portuguese international will embark on a new journey with Venezia of Serie A fighters after leaving Orlando City.

Nani has penned an 18-month contract with the Italian team, who are currently one point above the Serie A relegation zone, scoring 17 points in their opening 20 games.

The veteran winger will remain a Venezia player until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

“I’m so happy to have signed up @veneziafc!” He said on his official Instagram page. “It is a pleasure to be part of this impressive project in such a beautiful city.

“It’s time to work and give 100% to the team and all the fans. Andiamo!”

When announcing the arrival of Nani on social media, Wenzelia was labeled “one of the most talented wingers of his generation.”

Nani, who has made more than 200 appearances during his time in Manchester, was a fan favorite at Old Trafford but admitted the former winger Rio Ferdinand had disappointed the winger despite having ‘everything’.

Ferdinand, in an interview with Ball Street, explained, “I think you have players with undoubted ability on your team – great strength, got everything – but don’t throw it out on the pitch consistently.” .

“Nani is a great player. I remember he started a season as a house of fire and if he continued the vein of the farm he would definitely win Player of the Year.

“He’s going astray, I don’t know. He didn’t do it all the time. He could shoot better than anything, left and right, and very hard with both feet but he didn’t fit into it.

“One goes in here, one goes in there. You say: ‘Hit the target. You don’t have to hit it too strong, but it does get everything in one place at the same time.’
