Fort Campbell soldier charged with killing pregnant wife The child survives: reports


According to reports, a US Army soldier stationed in Kentucky has been charged with murdering his pregnant wife and injuring her unborn child.

Sergeant 1st Class Joseph Santiago, 33, has been arrested on charges of killing Meghan Santiago on Sept. 28, LOVEBYLIFE 17 reported in Nashville.

Authorities have not provided any details about the September 27 chargesheet in Fort Campbell. A veteran soldier speaking in anonymous condition told Stars and Stripes that his wife had a livelihood after a brain injury.

“Megan’s death is a tragedy,” Colonel Brent Lindemann, commander of the 5th Special Forces (Airborne), said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

Family member said Meghan Santiago, 32, of Spring Hill, Florida, was 32 weeks pregnant when she was murdered WTSP-TV reported in Tampa Bay. She was taken out of life support this week.

The couple’s other two children were temporarily taken care of by the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services.

Santiago was a specialist in signal support systems assigned to the Fifth Special Forces Group, Stars and stripes Reported.

He was being held at the Grayson County Jail. The U.S. Army Criminal Division is investigating the death of his wife Fox 17.
