Raylan Givens is returning to TV and this time he’s heading to Detroit.
FX announced on Friday that the Emmy-winning series “Justified” is teaming up again for a limited series called “Justified: City Primeval”. No timetable has been provided for the network revamp.
Timothy Oliphant will again play US Marshal Raylan Givens, a character created for the late novelist Elmore Leonard Page. The new story is inspired by Leonard’s crime novel “City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit.”
In a limited series, Givens, who now lives in Miami and has a 14-year-old daughter, travels to Detroit after a chance encounter on a lonely Florida highway.
Other roles include Clement Mansell, a violent sociopath known as the Oklahoma Wildman, and Carolyn Wilder, a Detroit native, Mansell’s lawyer.
According to the publication, “These three characters embark on a collision course in the classic Elmore Leonard style to see who makes City Primeval.”
The original “Justified” series, based on Leonard’s novel “Fire in the Hole”, debuted in 2010 and ended its run in 2015. Two Emmys, Peabody and the American Film Institute won numerous awards, including a TV show. Prize of the year.

Leonard was a series consultant until his death in August 2013 and was the guiding force for “Sustainable” executive producer Graham Yost, one of the production members returning to the limited series.
Yost has the WWED bracelets for the original cast and crew, a reminder to think about “What Wood Elmore Do”.
“There’s an old jigsaw that you should never meet your heroes, and it applies, but not in the case of Elmore,” Yost said. In a 2014 interview with the Detroit Free Press, part of the network. “He was fun to hang out with and had a good attitude about life and work and writing.”
That same year, Oliphant shared memories of meeting Leonard for the first time on the “Justified” set. Leonard loved the show so much, although he was not a fan of Givens’ beginning with his cowboy hat.
At the start of the show’s fifth season, Oliphant said, “They were as cool as they come.” Before long, they told me not to be afraid of losing the hat. He said, ‘You know, maybe the wind is blowing and you’ll never see it again.’ I thought it was great.
“‘Justified’ is one of the most critically acclaimed performances of the last decade and is a variant of Elmore Leonard’s work, brought to life by Timothy Oliphant as Raylan Givens, Graham Yost and producers, writers, directors and the entire cast.” Said in a statement.
“It’s exciting to have this group reunite with Tim as Raylan in a new and different Elmore Leonard story.”
Peter Leonard, son of Elmore Leonard, is one of the project’s executive producers.
