A Georgia man and woman robbed a Walmart cashier and stole more than $6,000 in merchandise and gift cards.
According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the couple loaded valuables into a Walmart cart in Grovetown on Nov. 30. Deputies said when they got to the cash register, they made several card transactions, WRDW reported.
The two men confused the cashier when they asked him to press the “cash” button on the register to activate his credit card.
The tactic then led to the merchandise being billed as cash, so their credit cards weren’t charged, WRDW reported.
