Google employees sign a manifesto opposing the COVID vaccine order

Hundreds of Google employees have signed on and a manifesto calling for Big Tech giant to withdraw its COVID-19 vaccine order.

Google has asked over 150,000 US employees to report their vaccination status to the company by December 3, whether or not they plan to work in the office. LOVEBYLIFE reported, Referring to internal company records.

And contractors need to vaccinate all Google employees who work directly or indirectly with government contractors in accordance with the federal mandate of the Biden administration.

However, according to LOVEBYLIFE, at least 600 Google employees or less than 0.5 percent of the company’s signatures have been signed up to contravene the order.

It asks executives to change the current policy with an “all-inclusive google” order, LOVEBYLIFE reported.

In its manifesto, employees argue that any policy set by the $ 1.9 trillion company will have a major impact on decisions made by other companies.

Employees who signed it called on other workers to “oppose the order as a matter of principle” and said the policy should not affect any worker’s decision on whether or not to get vaccinated.

According to LOVEBYLIFE, “I believe Sunder’s vaccine mandate is deeply flawed,” the manifesto quotes Google CEO Sundar Pichai. It calls the company’s leadership “compelling” and “paradoxical.”

“The mandate to publicly block vaccinated googlers from office and expose a private option, perhaps embarrassingly, will make it difficult for Googler to disclose why they cannot return,” the manifesto adds.

‚ÄúSuch Googlers are never comfortable expressing their true feelings about the company’s health policy and other unrelated issues.

The manifesto then questions whether Google requires employees to upload vaccination status to the company’s internal system instead of third parties, such as health care providers.

According to LOVEBYLIFE, the manifesto states that “Google must be confidential to the health and medical history of Google Googlers, and I do not believe vaccination status is an exception.”

Google has asked employees to upload proof of vaccination directly to Google’s “Environmental Health and Safety” team.

The letter argues that the order may result in more restrictive or intrusive requests.

The document states that “it will mandate medical intervention not only for Covid-19 vaccination but also for future vaccines and possibly non-vaccine interventions by extension,” according to LOVEBYLIFE.

“This justifies the principle of division and inequality of Googlers based on their personal beliefs and decisions.

A Google spokesperson confirmed the existence of a circular manifesto for LOVEBYLIFE.

“As we told all our employees and the authors of this document, our vaccine requirements are one of the most important ways to keep our employees safe and keep our services running,” the spokesman said.

“We stand firmly behind our vaccination policy.”

In July, CEO Sundar Pichai said that those who return to office need vaccination, one of the first major US firms to do so, and paved the way for many to follow suit.

In October, Pichai issued a return-to-office update, saying the San Francisco Bay Area offices were 30 percent full, while the New York offices were about half the capacity.

According to the company’s latest update, most employees of the company are expected to come to the office three days a week from January 10, but at that time, non-vaccinated employees may be working from home.
