Maroon 5’s Adam Levine has been named Google’s Most Popular Musician of 2022.
This finding was revealed as part of Google’s annual research The year is in searchIt is published at the end of each year to show what people have searched for the most in the last 12 months.
Given that Maroon 5 hasn’t released any new music this year — their last album, Geordie, came out last year — many have seen Levine trending in the wake of the controversy surrounding his romance with Instagram model Sumner Stroh. They assumed that he took the first place in the list.
Stroh revealed on her TikTok page in September that she was “having an affair with a man married to a Victoria’s Secret model.” Levine responded by saying that she “didn’t have an affair” but that she “crossed the line at an unfortunate time in my life.”
Also on Google’s top 5 most popular musicians are Mary J. Blige, Lil Jay, Kendrick Lamar and Migos.
Elsewhere, the two most searched songs on Google in 2022 were also Disney songs Encanto, i.e. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure”. Rounding out the top five in this category are Duke Jones and Louis Theroux’s TikTok hit “Jiggle Jiggle,” Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ duet “Unholy,” and Harry Styles’ “As It Was.”
Encanto It was also revealed that it will be the most popular movie of 2022 Thor: Love and Thunder, Top Gun: Maverick, Batman and Everything Everywhere At Once. It was the most searched TV show euphoria, followed by Stranger Things, The Watcher, Anna and Inventing Dragon House.
