Harry Styles Was Heckled By Beyoncé Fans During His Grammy Acceptance Speech And People Think That Taylor Swift Was Having “War Flashbacks” To The 2009 VMAs

I don’t know if you noticed, but the 2023 Grammys were last night and everyone was in attendance – most of them taking home awards.

Viola Davis achieved EGOT status when she won the Grammy for Best Audio Book, Adele was voted Best Pop Solo Performance, and Lizzo’s hit “About Damn Time” was named Record of the Year. .

Taylor Swift took home the award for Best Music Video, and Beyoncé made Grammy history when she won her 32nd award — making her the most Grammy-winning artist of all time.

But, as with most high-profile events, this year’s event was not without its controversies, and there was one win that was significantly divisive among viewers.

Album of the Year is traditionally the most coveted Grammy, and there was pretty stiff competition for 2023.

Abba, Adele, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, Beyoncé and Harry Styles were all in the running for the accolade, and when it went to Harry instead of Beyoncé, it was an obvious mix-up. The response came. From both home viewers and live audiences at the event.

As his famous peers stood to applaud his victory, Harry was brutally beaten by others in the crowd during his acceptance speech.

Journalist Ernest Owens later admitted on Twitter that he was one of the people who interrupted Harry’s moment, writing that “Beyoncé was robbed” when he posted a video of himself screaming on stage.

Beyonce was robbed. It was so underwhelming. The people are leaving the people. #GRAMMYs

In the clip, which has since circulated on other platforms, Harry can be heard exclaiming as someone shouts: “Beyoncé!”

Ernest quickly follows suit and shouts: “Beyoncé should have won!” To the audible gasps of the other people sitting in his area.

And it sadly seems as if the tumult has spilled over to the main stage, with the screams of Beyoncé’s fans clearly audible in a separate video of Harry’s speech which was filmed from the stage.

Needless to say, people have been horrified by the way Harry was treated during his speech, with one person sharing another video on TikTok and writing: “It made me so sad. People can’t respect who won and move on.Instead of trying to ruin people’s moments.

“Too bad someone tried to take that moment away from her,” another user agreed. A third asked: “Can the Grammys implement a no hecklers rule? Hecklers will be banned from future events! That’s it. So disrespectful.”

“It’s very sad. He deserves respect like other artists who come to this stage. Someone else wrote.

And while it was Harry’s moment, many couldn’t ignore the fact that Taylor Swift was one of Harry’s biggest supporters in the crowd.

The star, who dated Harry between 2012 and 2013, stood during her speech despite others sitting around her.

He tried to put a friendly face on Harry amid the seemingly negative reaction as he focused his full attention on him – while his body language showed that he heard the heckler’s comments.

And it didn’t take long for people to draw parallels between what was happening during Sunday’s ceremony and Taylor’s similar experience at the 2009 VMAs, where Kanye West beat Beyoncé for the award for Best Female Video. Then famously stormed the stage.

Taylor was just 19 years old at the time and at the start of her career, so she was over the moon when her music video for “You Belong With Me” was announced as this year’s winner.

But moments into her speech, Kanye – who has legally changed her name – stormed the stage, grabbed the microphone from her hand, and said: “Yo, Taylor, I’m here for you. So happy, I give you permission. Over, but Beyonce had one of the best videos ever! One of the best videos of all time!

Beyoncé was nominated for her “Single Ladies” music video, and looked downcast when shown in the audience.

You were booed by the crowd before handing the mic back to Taylor and casually walking off stage. She appeared to be in complete shock and stood quietly on the podium before MTV cut to a pre-recorded segment.

It’s reasonable to assume that hearing someone scream “Beyoncé should have won!” Bad memories would come flooding back for Taylor during Harry’s acceptance speech, and it was heavily referenced as the situation was discussed online.

“Taylor was having flashbacks…” read one popular comment. Another chimed in: “Taylor has war flashbacks 😭”

Another added: “Taylor knows exactly how he feels. I can’t believe I’m working so hard and people are cheering for me to win?” Another wrote: “Taylor Swift knows how it feels so she’s supporting him.”

Taylor previously admitted that the reason she was so upset after the VMAs incident was that when she heard the crowd chanting Ye, she thought they were hyping it up because they agreed. that she “didn’t deserve the award.”

And maybe that’s why she was determined to show Harry her unwavering support by standing during his speech.

The tragic example of history repeating itself comes just days after Taylor Lautner’s ex-boyfriend recalled the moment he saw the singer’s heartbroken face 14 years ago after Yee’s attack.

The actor was the one who presented Taylor with the award that night, and admitted that he originally thought the whole thing was a skit.

Speaking on his podcast. The squeezeTaylor Lautner said if he could relive any moment in his career, it would be the 2009 VMAs so he could do things differently and stand up for his then-girlfriend.

“I presented him with the award, so I gave him the award. [and] I took five steps back and stood five feet behind him,” he recalled. “In the middle of giving his acceptance speech, Kanye jumped on stage. I can barely hear him. I can’t see him. I’m just assuming the whole thing was a practiced and rehearsed skit. That Kanye West would be jumping on stage interrupting Taylor Swift? It just didn’t make sense.”

“He jumped, she was over. [and] The second she turned around and I saw her face for the first time, I was like, ‘Oh. No, it wasn’t good. Maybe something should have been said,” Taylor added.

You were reportedly escorted out of the building shortly after stealing Taylor’s moment, and both she and Beyonce broke down in tears after the incident.

Beyoncé won Video of the Year at the end of the show, and invited Taylor on stage to finish her opening speech.

Meanwhile, neither Beyonce nor Harry have publicly referenced what happened during their win at yesterday’s Grammys.
