The Metropolitan Police have released images of two teenage cousins who have gone missing, authorities have arrested a man on suspicion of people smuggling.
Detectives said they were “very concerned” about the girls, named Andrea, 15, and Izbela, 16.
A 54-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on charges of trafficking in people and is being held at a police station in north London.
The two girls are now under investigation for a high-risk missing person, with authorities following several different inquiries in an attempt to track them down.
Scotland Yard reported that Andrea was last seen in Canterbury on 1 October and Izabela was last seen in Harrow, West London on 3 October.
The pair are believed to have links to Leicester and Dundee, helping the Police Scotland Met investigate.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Bellis of the North West Public Protection Unit, London Force, urged the girls to “come forward and contact the police when it is safe.”
He said: “We are very concerned about the safety of Andrea and Izabela.
“While we are keeping an open mind about where they are, we believe they may have been taken out of London by people who would harm them.
“I would like to appeal directly to Andrea and Izabela.
“I especially urge members of the public London And Dundee, if they have any information to help us come forward. ”
