And Hollywood star Jennifer Connelly has revealed how she joined forces with one of the world’s highest-paid actors portraying pilot Maverick in drama films.

Speaking to Amazing Magazine, the 50-year-old actress praised Tom, 59, for her ‘enthusiasm and her generosity’.

He also said of the box office sensation: ‘The depth and breadth of his involvement and commitment to what he does, is extraordinary to me. Really remarkable. It is manifest in everything I see him doing.

‘He struck me as a man who didn’t take anything for granted and used every opportunity. I think it’s fabulous. ‘

Jennifer, who described her character Penny Benjamin as ‘optimistic’, revealed that during the interview she was initially unsettled for scenes that took her to the skies but that she feared flying before the shooting.

Upcoming: 50-year-old Jennifer also revealed during the interview that she had overcome fears of flying before filming, even though she was initially not scheduled for footage taken to the skies.

However, Penny and Maverick boarded the plane as she and Tom were about to take a taxi on the runway in the North American P-51 Mustang.

The Once Upon a Time in America star said she was conveniently out of that chapter (her flying phobia) – and she knew she had to ‘get to the bottom of it’ due to the constant commute needed for work.

She curiously added that none of it was related to airplanes or air travel again – which allowed her to ‘get off the other side’.

It was postponed to ‘allow production to work all complex flight sequences’ – and the COVID-19 epidemic added even more breadth at work. In addition to scheduling conflicts, the film got even more delayed.
