James Marsden opens up about his disappointment over the cancellation of his HBO show Westworld and why he pulled the plug on the network.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone , Marsden admits he’s disappointed the show is ending.
“I’d be lying if I told you that it wasn’t a disappointment that we finished Westworld. I never talk about what I’ve been through without being grateful, but it would be nice if I could. To finish the story that we wanted to finish,” he said. .
In November, HBO shockingly announced the end of Westworld to fans.

“I love this ‘Westworld’ family,” continued Marsden. “It’s been one of those rare opportunities to be a part of something, and I’ll be sitting at home waiting for the next episode as a fan.”
Marsden played Teddy Flood in the first, second and fourth seasons of the show.
“I fully understand that this is an expensive show, and big shows need to have a large audience to be worth the cost, I want more than just financial success,” he admitted.

“But who knows, maybe there’s a world where it can end somehow. Maybe it’s just a dream, because I know we have plans to end it the way we want it to,” he added.

In addition to saying goodbye to “Westworld,” Marsden had to close the door on his other long-running characters last year.
“There’s been a lot of goodbyes this year… It’s been bittersweet,” he said.
Marsden also wrapped up his role as Ben Wood in Netflix’s Dead To Me. The final season hit the streaming service last November. The actor also reprized his role as Prince Edward in the highly-anticipated sequel Disenchanted, set 15 years after the original Enchanted.
