Jamie Carragher teases Rio Ferdinand with ‘Carrick at the Wheel’ tweet

Shortly after Ole Gunnar Soulszare was released from his duties after a 4-1 defeat to Watford, the Reds were able to bounce back at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Tuesday night.

The former first-team coach of Soulsjer didn’t want a good result, and after the whistling, the legend of Sky Pandit and Liverpool has made a viral post on Twitter to mark the occasion.

“Manchester United may not thank me, but put out a contract, put it on the table and sign it.” Carragher wrote on Twitter.

“Let him fix the numbers. Let him sign the contract. Carrick is near the wheel-man.”

Of course, this is Carragher’s statement, referring to Rio Ferdinand’s iconic speech after his last victory over PSG in 2019 and the United Champions League last-16 place.

Ferdinand made it clear that Soulszar was to be hired on a permanent basis at BT Sport Studios that day.

“Man United may not thank me, but get out the contract, put it on the table, let him sign it, write down whatever numbers he wants to put in there – what he has done since he arrived – and let him sign the contract,” he said.

“Ole is on the wheel, man – he’s doing his job. Man United Are Back!”

Ferdinand, meanwhile, praised United for a solid, “no thrills” performance against Villarreal on Tuesday night.

“In that changing room, there is no doubt in my mind that they were pushing the clean sheet message,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

“This game had no thrills, no discipline and they had a plan. Things we’ve been hearing for weeks and weeks and weeks.

“It’s not a beautiful, fairytale, fairy football show. We can all appreciate that.

“It made it harder to lift your arms, get a seat, be there and beat. They did it today.”
