“The Past” panelists on Thursday called out Jennifer Lawrence for her statement in a recent interview with Variety that she became the first woman to star in an action film with her role in the “Hunger Games” film series.
“I remember when I was doing ‘The Hunger Games,’ nobody ever put a woman in the lead of an action movie because they said it wouldn’t work with a female lead,” Lawrence told Variety.
Harris Faulkner felt bad that Lawrence had been so deceived.
“In this situation, he believed he was the first, and it’s very sad,” he said.

Joe Concha said the interviewer could fix Lawrence.
“The person who interviewed Jennifer Lawrence was from Variety, right? You have to know your movies. You’re allowed to push back a little bit,” he said.
It didn’t take long for social media to remind the Hollywood A-lister of other female leads who starred in action movies before The Hunger Games. Twitter exploded with tweets from individuals who were quick to inform Lawrence that her statement was incorrect.
Meghan McCain Ellen Ripley, the main character in Alien, played by Sigourney Weaver, and Sarah Connor, played by Linda Hamilton in The Terminator, were among the most critical critics who were “thrilled” with Ellen Ripley growing up.
Emily Compagno told Harris Faulkner, “The problem is that when you focus on some kind of awakening and lose sight of the facts, all of that takes the focus away from what might actually need attention, what needs to be raised.” It’s about alienating someone,” said Emily Compagno. and other panelists.
“Why do you have to be first? Just be the best,” Kellyanne Conway said.
Dr. Nicole Saphier then noted that Lawrence rejected previous talented female leads.
“She obviously thinks highly of herself, but what did she do in that one interview? She just completely denied and washed away the achievements of all the women who came before her,” she said.
Variety recently deleted its original tweet with Lawrence’s claim and decided to tweet another quote from Lawrence. People took notice and responded with criticism as well.
