Jill Biden, Douglas Emhoff go viral for awkward smooch at Biden’s State of the Union: ‘Is this normal?’


First Lady Jill Biden and Second Gentleman Douglas Amhoff unintentionally created the first viral moment of President Biden’s second State of the Union address.

Before the speech, the first lady received a warm welcome as she walked into the House chamber, but received an even warmer welcome from Emhof.

He and the other gentleman appeared to greet each other with a kiss on the lips.

Their contour quickly caught fire on Twitter.

“It wasn’t on my bingo card tonight,” YouTube host Anthony Kibasa reacted.

“We’re off to a hot start,” said conservative strategist Greg Price.

Breitbart politics editor Emma Jo Morris tweeted.

Many called the kiss “weird” while others joked that “COVID is over.”

“Is this…normal?” Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips expressed surprise.

“Cheeks are fine. Or hugs. It’s weird because they both knew the cameras were on them,” tweeted Fox News contributor Joe Concha.

“Plot twist,” joked conservative commentator Kelsey Bowler.
