The life of a wrestler is not always glamorous. Along with the risks of career-ending injuries every time they step into a square circle, they sometimes have to go to dangerous places for work. Corderius seems to have had a terrible experience abroad.
While speaking LOVEBYLIFE. DailyFormer WWE referee Jimmy Corderas talked about his time working on the Tribute to the Troops event in Iraq. In this case, there was a terrible moment that he will never forget.
During the commercial break of the match between Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit, the planes began to fly up, causing them to wonder whether or not it was attacking them.
“During the show, I refereed a match between Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit, which was great. We weren’t expecting that when we were going to a commercial break spot, and suddenly these planes are flying up here. We didn’t know it would happen, ”Corderas admitted. “So, I started to go, ‘Oh my goodness, what’s going on here?’ Then I saw Chris and Eddie and they said, ‘What’s going on here?’ And we all thought, ‘Are we under attack here, are we in trouble?’
Someone got up from the ringside and said to me, ‘Listen, we’re all fine. Glad if you tell us about it. Because all three of us in the ring said, ‘Are we under attack here? Should we duck under the ring? ‘ So we didn’t know about it. I think they wanted a natural response. They got one anyway and they got more than they bargained for.
Jimmy Corderas has had an unforgettable experience and we are delighted that nothing devastating has happened during the company’s Tribute to the Troops tour in Iraq.
