John Terry shared a video of Diego Costa Flooring Chelsea Physio Billy ‘Rocky’ McCulloch Back in 2014 and it makes for incredible viewing.
Costa joined the Blues from Atletico Madrid in 2014 and is known for his volatile attitude on the pitch.
Given that anger, it is not surprising that Spain had a ‘boxing match’ in international training – and won.
The tweet was captioned: “@ Diego Costa Vs Billy (AKA) Rocky Pre Season 2014/15 After this I knew we were winning the league. What a Legend. I cry when I see this. “
Both men start another before McCulloch responds to Costa’s mocking.
McCulloch tried to get up before Costa turned away from his foe.
Yet the ‘Rocky’ lost and got up again and went to the field.
The exchange was in good fun and the two hugged at the end as the rest of the team clapped.
Chelsea former captain Terry was asked about Costa’s thoughts on the answers and ‘JT’ was full of love.
He said: “He was a really great guy. I loved him because he gave everything for our club every single day. He was caring and an incredible player.”
His energy and physical presence made Chelsea a perfect focal point for the rest of the team.
Costa was a stone-cold killer in front of goal, scoring 20 goals in his first season in the English top flight.
He scored his second goal in a League Cup win over Spurs at Wembley, further cementing his place as a player for clutch moments.
Costa flew Chelsea to another league title two years later, when he scored 21 goals for Antonio Conte’s 2016/17 title winners, eventually leaving with the Italian.
He returned to Atletico in 2018 before finally joining Atletico Minero.
