Jon and Kate plus stop the hate.
Jon and Kate Gosselin’s daughter Maddie has hit out at internet trolls for bullying her and her family – and is now asking them to show her “kindness”.
“This is the only time I’m going to pay attention to it because it’s sending me over the edge,” the 22-year-old reality star said in a new video posted to her TikTok on Saturday.
“The rhetoric in many of my comments about childhood trauma and healing and whatever you want to say about my family, my life, my parents, whatever is none of your business.”
The “Kate Plus 8” alum added, “Just like every other person in the whole world, it’s nobody else’s business how they behave behind closed doors if they don’t want it to be yours. Be a business.”
Maddie said perpetuating the narrative that she and her siblings are “damaged” or “crazy child stars” can be extremely detrimental to their future.
“There seems to be a public consensus that if you’re in the public eye, your whole life belongs to the public, and that’s not true at all,” he said.
Maddie shared that her siblings are doing “great” despite the rumors circulating online.
“They’re all amazing people. They’re all smart, they’re all kind, they’re students, they’re hard-working, they’re funny, they’re stylish,” she said.
Maddy added that the public is not “entitled” to know about her personal life.
She said that what I share on social media is my will and you are not entitled to anything more than that. “I’m sorry if this is hard to hear but this is a limit I set for myself and my family for what I share here and if you can’t respect that then I’m sorry. Unfollow or I’ll block you.”
Maddy also said the internet shouldn’t be a “free-for-all” where people can bully whoever they want.
“There should still be decorum and kindness in the comment sections and you shouldn’t say things you can’t say right to my face,” he said, adding, “You should be nice to people and Their privacy should be respected on the Internet.
Maddie also shared in the caption of her post that she has been “getting hate mail” since she was 6 years old.
The reality TV star appeared on TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8” series — along with her parents and seven siblings — from 2007 to 2009. After her parents’ divorce in 2009, she starred in the renamed “Kate Plus 8” series from 2010. As of 2016.
Jon and Kate share Maddie and her twin sister, Nicole, 22, as well as their 18-year-old sextuplets: Colin, Hannah Joy, Aidan Jonathan, Joel Kevin, Alexis Faith and Leah Hope.
It’s unclear what Maddy and her siblings were being bullied about, but their family has had plenty of drama over the years.
Colin came forward last November, claiming he had no relationship with his mother. She also alleged that she had not spoken to her siblings for years and accused her father of abuse., Which John has denied.
Meanwhile, Jon accuses Kate of “separating” him from his children while Kate claims that Jon has custody of her children. She first alleged that he had been “violent” and “abusive”, which he vehemently denied.
