Jury Deliberates Case Against Slain Kids’ Mom Vallow Daybell
A jury is currently deliberating the fate of Lori Vallow Daybell, a mother accused of conspiring to murder her two children. The case has drawn widespread attention due to the bizarre circumstances surrounding the children’s disappearance and the subsequent investigation.
Vallow Daybell’s children, 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan, were last seen in September 2019. Their disappearance prompted a massive search effort, and Vallow Daybell was eventually arrested in Hawaii in February 2020, months after the children were last seen.
The case took a shocking turn when investigators discovered that Vallow Daybell had married Chad Daybell, a doomsday prepper author, just weeks after her children’s disappearance. The couple fled to Hawaii shortly after their marriage but were eventually apprehended and brought back to Idaho to face charges.
During the trial, prosecutors argued that Vallow Daybell and Chad Daybell were part of a religious cult and that they believed their children were possessed by demons. They also alleged that the couple conspired to murder the children to further their belief in the end of the world.
Vallow Daybell has pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit murder, among others. The jury began deliberating on Monday, May 23, and is expected to continue deliberating throughout the week.
The case has drawn national attention, with many following the trial closely and expressing shock at the allegations against Vallow Daybell and Chad Daybell. If convicted, Vallow Daybell could face life in prison.
