Kanye West has confirmed that he is releasing his latest album on July 23.
Named Donda after his late mother, West announced the news during a Beats by Dre ad. It features American sprinter Shakari Richardson – who is missing from the Olympics after testing positive for marijuana – and a song by West called No. child left behind
As both a musician and designer, fashion is always front and center for West’s projects. He’s given us some memorable style moments in his past music videos — and no, we’re definitely not talking about the shutter shades he loved in 2007…
We could debate West’s best song and album for days—that’s up for debate, of course, but the general consensus descends on Runaways and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Such a comprehensive song deserves an impressive video, and that’s certainly what West delivered in 2010.
The runway comes as part of a 35-minute extended video featuring several songs from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The runaway section is simple but visually stunning: West in a clever tuxedo with a white jacket, surrounded by dancing ballerinas in striking black tutus.
The full short film is well worth watching – it’s an epic tale of West’s relationship with a half-female, half-Phoenix who has fallen to earth.

West isn’t at all in the Fed’s video from 2016’s The Life of Pablo. Instead, it stars Teyana Taylor, an artist signed to West’s GOOD Music label.
Most of the video shows Taylor dancing around the gym – her athletic moves and wet-looking hair are reminiscent of Flashdance. Her outfit is simple—a sports bra and sneakers—but it’s reminiscent of West’s signature style. With the help of his Yeezy label and estranged wife Kim Kardashian West, he helped propel the trend of stripped-back athleisure into the mainstream.
A 2016 video for Wolves doubles as an ad campaign for French fashion house Balmain.
This includes models like Kardashian West and Alessandra Ambrosio, Joan Smalls and Jordyn Dunn, all wearing Balmain dresses: heavily embellished dresses with lace accents, strong silhouettes, and lots of corsets.

Seventies fashion obsession is everywhere right now (most recently showcased by The Foo Fighters)—so in the mid-naughties, West was ahead of the curve with his music video for Touch the Sky.
A clip inspired by the 1970s shows daredevil ‘Avel Kanyevel’ (West) trying to blow up a rocket over a gorge. The fashion is thoroughly retro—from West’s pink shirt to Pamela Anderson’s satin playsuit—though it got the rapper in hot water. Daredevil Avel Knievel served West with a lawsuit for equality in his life and work, particularly taking issue with the star-spangled jumpsuit—almost similar to Knievel’s when he failed to jump Snake River Canyon in 1974 .
